Sunday School

Children in Sunday School

Sunday School meets weekly from 9:15am to 10:15am on Sunday mornings during the fall, winter, and spring. Children in preschool through grade 6 participate in the program. Songs, crafts, bible stories, and interactive media help to engage children in the lessons.

The Sunday School classes meet as a whole at the beginning of each session to hear a children's message, sing songs, and pray. Afterwards, classes break up by age-range. Volunteer team teachers lead each class in age-appropriate activities to help children grow in faith.

The children that attend Sunday School also present a yearly Christmas Pageant at Good Shepherd and at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. We also have a Vacation Bible School for children in preschool through sixth grade during the summer.

Confirmation

Confirmation class

The confirmation program prepares students in 7th and 8th grade to become active adult members of Good Shepherd. The program is taught on Monday evenings from 7pm to 8pm in the fall, winter, and spring. The Here We Stand interactive program is an essential component of Confirmation teaching.
